Outlook: Sun on Wednesday, then wet and more humid

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Wednesday will be another nice, summery day. It might be too warm for some people, particularly those who enjoy 60s and 70s in the summer months. But, it will not be humid, and there will be a light breeze from the southwest.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Thursday. Some storms could be strong, and a quick half inch or more of rain is possible in some areas.

Humidity will increase on Thursday and Friday, and we anticipate very warm temperatures too. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely, as a warm front slowly lifts north and vigorous, upper-level wave moves over the Midwest. It appears most of the activity will be in the later morning and early afternoon, but the timing hinges on where the initial showers and storms develop on Wednesday night. Some of the storms could be strong, and a quick half inch or more of rain is possible in some locations.

Friday through Sunday, plan on a mostly sunny sky with highs near 90 degrees and lows around 70 degrees. The humidity will make it feel uncomfortable for most people. Also, pop-up showers and thunderstorms are possible, especially in the afternoons and evenings. But, the overall threat for rain is low, and we recommend keeping your plans in place.

The weather will be active at times next week with showers and thunderstorms possible later Monday into Tuesday. Of course, next week holds the 4th of July, which includes community events and fireworks. Keep checking the WQOW weather app for the latest!
