Lizzo’s crew adopts a rescue dog ahead of show in Madison

MADISON, Wis. — Lizzo arrived in Madison Thursday for a sold out show at the Sylvee, and she and her crew left with a cute little rescue dog!

That should make for a memorable visit.

The Sylvee posted a photo Friday morning of Lizzo in her bed cuddling with the cutest little dog.

Lizzo met with the group Underdog Pet Rescue of Wisconsin during an adoption event before the show, and apparently her group was enamored with one of the pooches, named Poke.

“We’d like to report that her team has officially added Poke to the Girl Gang and have adopted her!” read the post.

Underdog Pet Rescue’s Executive Director tells 27 News Lizzo’s posts are bringing awareness to an important issue.

“She actually has done this in some other cities too,” said Lauren Wojtasiak. “She reaches out to shelters and rescues and coordinates having some adoptable animals come in, and it’s great because it spreads the word to the community about adoptable animals.”

Madison-based Underdog Pet Rescue of Wisconsin offers adoption and veterinarian services for rescued pets. They also offer fostering and volunteering opportunities.
