Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire software engineer is planning a primary challenge to 12-term Congressman Ron Kind.

Justin Bonner, 24, said he is entering the race because he believes Kind has become too moderate and hopes his candidacy will help push a number of more progressive policies.

According to his campaign website, Bonner advocates for abolishing ICE, the NSA and CIA. He also promotes environmental legislation, Medicare for all and free public education through college.

When News 18 reached out for comment, Kind’s campaign said: “The Congressman is focused on doing his job in Congress and working to lower health care costs for Wisconsinites, ending the President’s reckless trade war, and keeping family dairy farms afloat.”
