2 charged following gun incident at North HS parking lot

Eau Claire (WQOW) – The suspects arrested in a gun incident at the North High School parking lot Friday night have officially been charged.

According to the criminal complaint, Benjamin Weinberger and Tracy Gawlitta came out of their home and confronted a group of teens playing loud music in the parking lot late Friday night.

Witnesses said Weinberger became upset and pulled a handgun from his waistband.

Weinberger admitted the incident to police and said he had been drinking heavily.

A breathlalyzer test registered a 0.201.

Weirberger is charged with operating a firearm while intoxicated.

He and Gawlitta are also charged with disorderly conduct.

They return to court in October.
