Jury returns guilty verdict in St. Croix County child sexual assault case

St. Croix County (WQOW) — A jury has reached a verdict in the case against a St. Croix County man charged with sexually assaulting a girl who was under the age of 12 at the time.

Rodney Dionne, 22, was accused of assaulting the girl between 2012 and 2015 at a home daycare his mother operated in Star Prairie.

After less than three hours of deliberation, the St. Croix County jury convicted Dionne on one count of child sexual assault. He’ll remain held without bond until his sentencing hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.

Based on the charge, Dionne faces a maximum penalty of 60 years in prison.
