Eau Claire first responders and hospital employees remember 9/11

Eau Claire (WQOW) – First responders and staff from HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital gathered Wednesday morning in the hospital lobby, to take a moment to pause and remember the tragic events of 9/11.

A prayer for the victims was followed by a light reception to thank the first responders in Eau Claire.

“I was quite young when 9/11 happened, but that event actually gave me some motivation to become a first responder and make a difference in people’s lives,” said Shawn Willi, a firefighter and paramedic for the Eau Claire Fire Department.

The hospital’s emergency services director said it’s important to take a few minutes out of the day each anniversary in order to remember the ones that lost their lives, doing the same profession as those at HSHS.
