Buffalo County (WQOW) – A Minnesota man was killed in a motorcycle crash over the weekend in Buffalo County.

According to the sheriff’s department, the crash happened at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, September 7 on Highway 95 near Baures Road in the town of Cross.

A group of motorcyclists were riding together when Troy Armistead, 51, fell behind the rest of the group. As he was trying to catch up he missed a curve because of how fast he was going, according to the sheriff’s department.

Authorities say he went into the ditch which sent him and his motorcycle airborne.

Armistead was not wearing a helmet, according to the sheriff’s department.

Speed was a factor in the crash, according to authorities.
