Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire restaurant is giving you a chance to grab some grub, and help out a local non-profit.

Vandals caused thousands of dollars in damage at Hope Gospel Mission’s new Renewal Center for Women and Children playground last Friday.

Hope Gospel officials said the playground suffered $3,000-$4,000 in damage. The center has yet to open.

Isaac Lindahl, a manager at Butcher’s Block BBQ said they were shocked when they found out the playground was vandalized and knew they needed to do something to help.

Wednesday, for every pulled pork sandwich sold, $2 was be donated to Hope Gospel Mission.

“So in the past we’ve done up to 500 sandwiches,” said Lindahl. “If we can match that number that’s a thousand dollars that we can give back to Hope Gospel, but we want to raise as much as possible.”

Lindahl said they sold $138 worth of sandwiches as of 4:30 p.m.

Despite Hope Gospel’s set back, officials told News 18 they still plan to open the center in the fall.

You can purchase a sandwich until 9 p.m. The business is located at 2235 North Clairemont Avenue.
