Chippewa County (WQOW) – Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk is issuing a plea for tips as his department tries to figure out more about the man they say killed four people in Chippewa County.

Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk said his department has not received a single tip since early last week into the history or whereabouts of Ritchie German Jr.

Police say he killed his mother, brother and nephew in their Lafayette home, then killed Laile Vang at her Lake Hallie home on July 28, before taking his own life.

Investigators continue to dig into cell phone records and the four messages exchanged between German Jr. and Vang in the 24 hours before she was murdered.

Police say there’s no evidence Vang knew who he was.

“The leads have not come in as expected,” Kowalczyk said. “We had one lead last week. We followed up on that. Again, asking the public to contact the sheriff’s department if they know anything about Ritchie German or any of the victims.”

If you have a tip, you are asked to call 715-726-4563.
