At least 20 dead and 26 injured after West Texas shooting

El Paso, TX (WQOW) – A shooting at a Walmart and nearby shopping center Saturday morning has left at least 20 dead and 26 injured, including two children.

Officials said they believe that one shooter was behind the massacre, identifying the suspect as 21-year-old Patrick Crusius of Allen, a suburb of Dallas.

The first call of an active shooter came to police at 10 a.m..

Officials said they are still investigating the possible motive.

The El Paso police chief did note that authorities are examining that he called a “manifesto” that they believe was written by the shooter and shows a possible “nexus” to hate crime.

The El Paso Children’s Hospital has recently said that both children injured are now stable and expected to recover.
