(WQOW) – LME, a trucking company based out of Minnesota, with a location in Chippewa Falls, closed all of its facilities without notice on Thursday.

According to the company’s website, they will no longer be making pickups or deliveries due to “unforeseen circumstances” and have ceased operations.

They say they will utilize Estes Express to assist in getting all freight delivered and some staff are remaining to help with that.

According to the Star Tribune in Minnesota, owners closed Lakeville Motors Express two and a half years ago, without notice too. The newspaper says LME began paying a multi-million-dollar settlement to those workers just last month.

Transportation Nation Network reports more than 600 employees are laid off nationally.

News 18 has tried reaching out to LME both in Chippewa Falls and the headquarters in Roseville, Minnesota but have not had our calls answered.
