Marathon County Board passes resolution recognizes June as Pride Month

WAUSAU (WAOW) – The Marathon County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution Tuesday night that recognizes the month of June as Pride Month.

The resolution passed by a vote of 25-10.

The resolution passed two committees last week and community members spoke in favor or against it last Thursday during a public input session.

“We had a lot of discussion and I think we got to a place where this is a really good resolution and gives us a good guidance for the future and I’m really happy it passed, I wish it would have passed unanimously but I will take what I can get,” Katie Rosenberg the Marathon County Supervisor for District 1 said.

The resolution goes into effect immediately.
