Stanley man pleads guilty to driving drunk, fleeing from police

Clark County (WQOW) – A Stanley man accused of driving drunk during a high-speed chase pleaded guilty to some of the charges against him.

Clark County deputies said Sale Kortesmaki reached speeds exceeding 100 mph during the incident last December.

The chase ended after he hit a set of spike strips, eventually crashing into a ditch.

Police said an empty bottle of whiskey was found in the car.

Police said he resisted arrest, head butting an officer and spitting at others.

Thursday, he pleaded guilty to fleeing from officers, OWI and battery to law enforcement.

He will be sentenced in October.
