Chippewa County (WQOW) – The trial for the man accused of killing Kenneth Patterson in 2016 is underway.

Tuesday, in a Chippewa County courtroom, the jury for the trial of Jesse Lloyd was picked.

He’s one of the two men charged in the death.

Patterson’s body was found shot on a front lawn near Lake Wissota.

In opening statements, the prosecution said there is security footage of Lloyd buying the ammunition used to shoot Patterson, and that same ammo was eventually found at the time Lloyd was arrested.

The defense argued that Matthew Lebrec, the other man accused in the case, has already confessed to using force to commit armed robbery.

Lloyd’s lawyer said Labrec’s story has changed multiple times and that Lebrec has said he “was hallucinating” and “out of his mind.” Witness testimony is set to begin Wednesday morning.
