Eau Claire (HOPE GOSPEL MISSION) – The Hope Gospel Mission is now able to expand their services thanks to a new fundraiser.
They have raised enough funds and are now in the new facility for men (moved out of the downtown location) near the Hope Gospel Mission Bargain Center on the west side of Eau Claire and have turned their focus to raising funds for a new women’s building and expand our services to women with children. They say they are currently turning away 2-4 women per month who have children because they are not YET set up for women with children. Increased community need and vision to help more hurting, homeless people are driving these new efforts.
Hope Gospel Mission’s “Campaign For Hope” is a $6.4 million, two phase project that will allow Hope Gospel to serve more men and women and will allow them to increase their services to care for women with children which will meet an urgent need in our community. Hope Gospel Mission currently serves the homeless, hungry, hurting, abused, and addicted throughout the Chippewa Valley and western Wisconsin.
They are now able to focus on raising the remainder of the $1.6 million still needed to purchase and renovate existing facilities on Frank Street in Eau Claire for the new Hope Renewal Center For Women and Children.
The Hope Renewal Center For Women and Children will provide a safe, stable home and programs for more single women struggling with homelessness and addiction and will begin services to care for single women with children. This facility will offer: 11 units for women with children, 14 beds for single women, classroom and computer labs, educational daycare services, conference and training rooms, areas for hobbies and crafts, a garden area to grow fruits and vegetables, outdoor play area, a kitchen for residents and volunteers to prepare and cook meals, and more on-on-one training and case management with additional meeting rooms and offices.
