Eau Claire (WQOW) –  A local church is giving a lending hand to the community by getting kids and families ready for the upcoming school year.

Peace Church in Eau Claire is making sure all elementary students get back into the classroom with a full stomach, a fresh haircut, clean clothes and new supplies.

Those families that are needing assistance can make their way to the Phoenix Park Farmer’s Market on August 5 and turn in a form listing their specific needs.

At the farmer’s market they can also receive meals, get their hair cut and play some games, too.

Requests for backpacks, school supplies and clothes will be purchased by church members and delivered to the children’s schools before the first day of classes on September 3.
