Eau Claire (WQOW) — Thunderstorms grew overhead the Blue Ox Festival on Friday, causing delays to performances.
According to a festival worker, some trees on the grounds fell down, but everyone remained safe.
After several hours spent waiting out the storm, bands returned to the stage to continue performing.
“People just don’t let it dampen their spirits,” Nate Sipe, band member of Pert Near Sandstone, said. “Tents may get damp, but everyone’s ready to keep going and excited when the music is back on.”
No performances were cancelled, but several sets had to be shortened so that all bands had a chance to play before the storm hit.
The festival completed its three day lineup on Saturday and plans to return next summer.
