Investigators are still combing through tips about the Closs case in Barron County, but the number of incoming tips has dropped off significantly.
According to the criminal complaint, Jaenke-Annis was arrested on October 27 at the Closs’ home for stealing clothing items belonging to Jayme Closs.
The funeral for James and Denise Closs was held Saturday afternoon at St. Peters Catholic Church in Cameron.
On Saturday, the Barron County Sheriff received more than 1,900 tips and investigators have closed 1,700 of them.
The Barron County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday morning that with help from Jennie-O Turkey Store, the reward has increased from $25,000 to $50,000.
Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald tells News 18 that investigators have released the crime scene back to the Closs family. The investigation remains active.
