UPDATE: no injuries reported in Chippewa Falls fire

UPDATE: Chippewa Falls Fire Chief Lee Douglas said the department received a call for a structure fire shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday. Douglas said when crews arrived, they found the heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building.
Firefighters initially entered the building but given the fire was quickly spreading, Incident Command withdrew all interior personnel, moving them to fight the fire from the exterior of the building.
"There were no injuries reported," Douglas said. "The building was reported to be unoccupied at the time of the fire, so no injuries to civilians nor have we had any injuries to firefighters"
CHIPPEWA FALLS (WQOW) - The Chippewa Falls Fire Department and police are asking residents to stay clear of the area surrounding the 50 block of West Willow Street.
In a Facebook post, the department reported an active fire is occurring, so lots of fire equipment is necessary. The public is asked to stay away so firefighters can have enough room to work.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
