UPDATE: Man killed in Trempealeau County crash identified

UPDATE: TREMPEALEAU COUNTY (WQOW) - Authorities have identified those involved in a fatal Trempealeau County crash.

68-year-old Ernest Berg, of Blair, was killed in the crash. Berg was driving an SUV. The driver of the truck has been identified as 17-year-old Micah Nehring, of Whitehall. Nehring and a 14-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.

TREMPEALEAU COUNTY (WQOW) - One person is dead, and two others were sent to the hospital following a crash in Trempealeau County.

According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office, it happened Thursday, shortly after 7 p.m. on Highway 53, near State Road 95 in the Town of Preston. That's southeast of Whitehall.

Authorities say an SUV was going north on 53, and went to make a left turn onto 95, into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

The driver of the SUV was ejected, and pinned under the vehicle. They were taken to an area hospital, but died from their injuries.

The driver and passenger of the pickup were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation. No names are being released at this time.
