Polk County vaccine clinic canceled due to lack of supply

pfizer vaccine coronavirus

POLK COUNTY, Wis. (WQOW) - We are seeing the first direct impact of the southern United States snowstorm on the COVID-19 vaccine supply here in northwest Wisconsin.

The Polk County Health Department announced that a drive-thru vaccine clinic slated for Wednesday in Balsam Lake has been canceled.

The health department says the winter storms in the southern U.S. caused vaccine shipment delays.

According to the health department, if you had a first vaccine dose appointment in Balsam Lake on Wednesday, you have been automatically rescheduled to get it on Wednesday, March 3 at the same time. Your second vaccine dose will now be administered on April 1. If those dates and times don't work for you, you are asked to call 715-485-9258 or send an email.

The vaccine clinic in Polk County slated for Thursday, Feb. 25, is on as scheduled.
