WASHINGTON (WQOW) - Relationships built in the United States Senate could propel legislation put forward by the Biden administration.

That's what ABC News Political Director Rick Klein told News 18 on Thursday.

Klein said while neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris are known as bipartisan lawmakers, relationships they have built, particularly with those on the other side of the aisle, could help get things done.

"There is an opportunity given they know the personalities. They can pick up the phone and call any of the Senators to get things done and move forward and that's the clear signal from Joe Biden is to try to put that open hand out and see if he can get some people to cooperate with him," Klein said.

Klein said the biggest challenge for Biden will be the COVID-19 pandemic.
