8 injured in Wisconsin mall shooting, suspect sought

UPDATE: Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber held a press conference shortly before six providing updates on a shooting at Mayfield Mall.

He says that dispatch received 911 calls reporting the incident near the northwest entrance to Macy's at 2:50 pm. When emergency personnel arrived, the shooter was no longer at the scene.

Seven adults and one teenager were injured in the shooting, police report that the extent of injuries are unknown at this time.

Weber says numerous agencies are assisting with clearing the mall property. Those looking to reunify with anyone who was at the mall should go to the reunification area located at the At Home store.

Investigators are working to determine the identity of the suspect, and say that any information previously reported about his identity is false.Weber said based on what witnesses have said, the suspect is a white man in his 20s or 30s.

No word on a motive.The mall is still an active crime scene and will remain close until further notice.


WAUWATOSA, Wisc. (WQOW) - The mayor of Wauwatosa tells ABC News there are multiple injured victims in an active shooter incident at the Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa.

The mayor says the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, but the perp is currently still at large.

There are approximately 75 police officers on scene at this time.
