Menomonie (WQOW) - The School District of the Menomonie Area said Friday most of its sporting events this fall will be conducted without fans.

A blog post shared by District Administrator Joe Zydowsky said only events that cannot be livestreamed will be open for parent spectators. This includes varsity football games scheduled to be played on the UW-Stout campus.

For any SDMA events unable to be livestreamed, two parents/guardians per player will be allowed to attend, Zydowsky wrote. The school district will try to livestream as many events as possible, including lower level contests.

Earlier this week, the Big Rivers Conference announced only parents/guardians of home teams will be allowed to attend events.

Each school district is still responsible for working with local health departments to develop local policies, Zydowsky wrote.

Zydowsky also said parents allowed to attend events that are not livestreamed will be required to social distance and wear face coverings for both indoor and outdoor events.

Parents are expected to arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to the start of the event and are expected to leave immediately following the contest, he wrote.

The spectator policies will be reviewed and may be adjusted during the season.
