Area high school sports teams hit the practice field or court for the first time Monday.
Cross country, girls golf, girls tennis and girls swimming/diving were able to start practice per the WIAA's restructured schedule for the fall season.
Football, volleyball and boys soccer will begin on September 7.

Bloomer boys and girls cross country head coach Charlene Kelley said the Blackhawks will run their first race next Wednesday in Cameron.
Student-athletes News 18 spoke with Monday said they are thankful for the opportunity to play.
On Saturday, the Eau Claire Area School District announced it will not participate in fall athletics in 2020. It will instead plan to utilize the WIAA's alternate season opportunity next spring.
