Stafsholt defeats Link in 10th Senate District primary

Rob Stafsholt

Eau Claire (WQOW) - We now know who will face off against Democratic incumbent Patty Schachtner for the 10th Senate seat in the November election.

Republican Rob Stafsholt has defeated Cherie Link and will represent the Republican party in the race.

“It was a lively primary election, and I’m both humbled and encouraged to have this strong show of support from voters across the district. This seat is Republicans’ best pick-up opportunity in November, and I’m committed to leading the charge to make that victory happen," Stafsholt said.

Currently, Stafsholt is the representative of the 29th Assembly District. He chose not to see reelection for that seat in an effort to unset Schachtner.

Stafsholt is a lifelong resident of St. Croix County and is a fourth generation farmer.

If elected in November, Stafsholt said he will fight for family-supporting jobs and against fraud, waste and abuse in state government.
