St. Croix County (WQOW) - There will be a new district attorney in St. Croix County because the man currently holding the job is calling it a career.
Michael Nieskes announced he is retiring which has opened the field for a pair of Republicans hoping to replace him.
Based on Tuesday's primary results, 31-year-old Karl Anderson will be taking over the spot.
He defeated fellow Republican Amber Hahn on Tuesday.
No Democrats have announced a run, meaning unless someone launches a write-in campaign prior to November Anderson will take over as DA.
Anderson, an assistant district attorney in St. Croix County, is endorsed by Nieskes and former U.S. Representative Sean Duffy.
