La Crosse (WQOW) - The Diocese of La Crosse is following the governor's lead, meaning Catholics going to church this weekend will need to wear a mask.

In a memo put out by the Diocese on Friday, Bishop William Callahan said effective on Saturday, everyone over the age of 5 must wear a face covering while at church or any function associated with the Diocese.

Bishop Callahan says you do not need to wear a mask if you have certain health conditions which prohibit you from doing so or if you you are speaking to the congregation and not within six feet of anyone else.

The order runs concurrent with Governor Evers' order meaning as of now it will expire on September 28.
