The Crickets held a practice Monday evening at the high school.

Fall Creek (WQOW) - The Crickets want closure, but the coronavirus pandemic has other plans.

Fall Creek High School's baseball team began the year hoping to defend its conference title.

Now, it just wants to send its seniors off in style with a simple baseball game.

"It would mean a lot to me to see them play one last game with the boys," junior Luke Olson said Monday.

The Crickets were scheduled to play McDonell Central on Thursday as part of July contact days, but a spike in COVID-19 cases throughout the Chippewa Valley has canceled the game.

The teams are also scheduled to play on July 30, but only if its safe to do so.

"I just want to put on the cleats and jersey one more time," senior Brian Johnston said. "For me as a senior, it would mean everything to me to put on the jersey one more time."
