Closer to average temperatures and plenty of sunshine is expected into the weekend with a few scattered storms to intervene on outdoor plans Saturday afternoon.

Friday jump starts the weekend with wonderfully sunny weather. High temperatures will climb to near average in the low to mid 80's. Eau Claire's average high is 83 degrees. It will be a touch breezy though with winds from the northwest at 10-20 mph.

The relief. Dew points are still on the decline into the weekend but it will still be a bit humid Friday and Saturday. Dew points will sit in the low 60's those two days before falling into the mid 50's for Sunday. You can give that A/C a break!

A complex of severe storms is expected to develop in the Dakota's Friday afternoon. Models progress this system towards western Wisconsin overnight Friday into Saturday morning. This may survive into the Chippewa Valley for early Saturday, but the better chances for storms stays in the Coulee Region.

A secondary wave may pop a few isolated storms across the area for Saturday afternoon/evening too. These won't be severe but we may get a heavy downpour and some lightning that could alter your outdoor plans. By no means will it be a complete washout.

Sunday will be cooler and more comfortable with highs actually below average. A few areas may not even break 80, especially to the northeast of Eau Claire.

A little humidity returns through the middle of next week along with some scattered thunderstorm chances.
