Eau Claire (WQOW) - This week, Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. announced a new digital campaign to support the safe reopening of downtown businesses.

DECI is encouraging area residents and visitors to "Root for Eau Claire" on social media, and participating in the campaign is easy.

First, take a photo of yourself supporting a downtown business and upload it to Facebook or Instagram. Tag the business and Downtown Eau Claire, and include #Root4EC.

You'll then be entered into a giveaway to win three $50 gift cards and other downtown Eau Claire swag every two weeks through September.

"We wanted to show not only our members, our DECI members, but also just the downtown community in general's support and try to create awareness that these businesses really make up our downtown and make it a really special place. This has been an uncertain time for everybody and they're still there. We need to support them as much as we can," said Sara Larsen, DECI business and communications specialist.

DECI also created a video called "Portrait of Eau Claire," which features 13 downtown business owners. Click/tap here to watch the two-minute video.

You can learn more about the campaign by visiting Downtown Eau Claire's website.
