Micon closed again

Eau Claire (WQOW) - An iconic movie theater in downtown Eau Claire is closing its doors again.

Connie Olson, vice president and co-owner of Micon Cinemas, said their downtown location will be closed temporarily until Hollywood picks back up with producing new movies.

The other Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls Micon theaters will remain open showing roughly 15 classic features per week.

Olson told News 18 the decision to close the downtown theater again was because "there are only so many classic movies out there to show" and people are looking for new content.

Again, this is only a temporary closure. Olson believes they may be able to reopen sometime in September.
