Polk County authorities find body of missing motorist

UPDATE Polk County (WQOW) - Sheriff's officials have found the body of an Amery man who had been missing since Sunday, June 28.

According to a release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, late Friday Morning (July 3, 2020), authorities located the body of Andre David Lyons.

Officials believe Lyons was traveling north on Hwy 35 in the Town of Farmington, when he drove off the road and into the ditch. Authorities say excessive speed was a contributing factor for the crash.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office thanked those who assisted in the search for Lyons over the past several days.

July 1, 2020 Polk County (WQOW) - A rural Amery man is missing and authorities in Polk County are looking for anyone who might have information.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office received a call on Sunday, June 28, that Andre Lyons, 40, was missing.

During the investigation authorities learned Lyons had left a home near the Polk/St Croix County line and was headed north on Highway 35 in Polk County. They were also told Lyons was heading home which is north of Amery.

Investigators say they have scoured the area but have not found Lyons or the yellow Honda motorcycle he was riding.

Now, the DNR is aiding in the search with an airplane.
