Eau Claire (WQOW)- If you're looking to celebrate the 4th of July with a bang, it won't be hard to find fireworks in our local area.
Firework pop-up tents have gone up around the Chippewa Valley in the last week, with locations in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and other surrounding cities.
One company said despite the pandemic, they have seen an uptick in sales so far compared to recent years.
The owners believe the sales increase could be due to the holiday falling on a Saturday this year, but it's something they still did not expect.
"I think that we were surprised to see the small uptick," said Kiffany Junker, part owner of Fireworks Liquidators. "Originally, we were not even sure that we were going to be able to open, so we're taking this as a good blessing and we're just really excited for people to be coming into our stores."
Junker said many customers have been buying fireworks to host shows in neighborhoods where public shows may have been canceled. Aside from the main location in Cadott, Fireworks Liquidators has 24 tent shops across western Wisconsin, and they will all remain open until July 5, with social distancing guidelines in place.
