Eau Claire County (WQOW) - An Augusta man charged with causing severe injuries to his infant daughter is going to prison.

Eau Claire County Judge John Manydeeds Thursday ordered Tyler Bedell to spend five years behind bars.

Bedell pleaded no contest in February to child abuse causing great bodily harm.

He was charged last year after the six-month-old baby was found to have two skull fractures, a brain bleed, and more than ten hemorrhages in one of her eyes. Doctors said they believed the damaged part of her brain will eventually die.

When Bedell gets out of prison, he will be on extended supervision for five years, and cannot have contact with the child or her family.
