Chippewa Valley (WQOW)- Some familiar voices from local radio have started a fundraiser to give back to essential workers on the front lines.

Mid-West Family Broadcasting radio stations, including the I94 variety station launched the "Feeding the Front Lines" fundraiser in support of health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donations will be distributed to HSHS Sacred Heart, Mayo Clinic, and Marshfield hospitals in Eau Claire. In about two weeks the fundraiser has earned many donations ranging from $1 to $150.

"Eau Claire and the greater Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area is a massive hub for the medical industry and the health care industry, and so we have a lot of workers here, a lot of workers that have been asked to do different things and that's why we thought they need our support at this time," said John Murphy, Mid-West Family Broadcasting Eau Claire promotion coordinator.

Murphy says donations from the fundraiser will also go to local restaurants across the Chippewa Valley that have yet to be determined.
