Eau Claire (WQOW) - An Eau Claire man convicted in a stabbing case from last September will avoid time behind bars.
Police say Michael Alexander was involved in a fight last Labor Day.
Police say he left, then came back with a knife, stabbing the victim in the neck and shoulder.
In January, Alexander pleaded no contest to 1st degree recklessly endangering safety as part of a plea.
Friday, Judge Jon Theisen sentenced Alexander to five years of probation. He must also maintain absolute sobriety and is ordered to seek and maintain full-time employment.
