Eau Claire County (WQOW) - The woman who claimed she was the victim of threats that forced Stanley-Boyd schools into a soft hold in February has been charged after investigators say she made the threats herself.

Police are also saying Brittany Frane sent threatening texts to herself using an app which made it look like the messages were being sent from an ex-boyfriend.

The messages threatened to kill her, her family members and referenced the Stanley-Boyd School District which went on hold on February 18.

Now, Frane is charged with making terrorist threats, identity theft, three counts of telephone harassment and obstruction.

She's free on a $2,000 signature bond. She returns to court in June.
