Wisconsin (WQOW) - A new study finds that Wisconsin homeowners pay some of the highest property taxes in the country.
The report by personal finance website WalletHub found that Wisconsin ranks fifth in the nation in taxes.
WalletHub used tax rates on a $205,000 home, which is the median home value in the U.S.
The report comes as state lawmakers butt heads over a pair of plans that would cut property taxes.
Governor Tony Evers vetoed the GOP's plan Wednesday that included $45 million to off-set a property tax increase and Republicans have yet to take up Evers' proposal which would spend $130 million to lower property taxes.
