Eau Caire (WQOW) - Before the plan commission Monday are upgrades to the historic Carson Park baseball stadium.
The stakeholders want to build permanent bleachers on both the first and third baselines that can accommodate up to nearly 1,000 people.
According to city documents, the new bleachers would also greatly expand seating for fans with disabilities. The project also calls for larger dugouts, new climate-controlled restrooms as well as retail space. The city council will take up the measure on March 9.
The Carson Park Capital Campaign Renovation Committee is helping to fund the project. Right now, officials say they are $700,000 short of their $3 million goal.
