Eau Claire (WQOW) - On next week's city council agenda, council members will look at adopting the renewable energy action plan which would put the city on track to be carbon neutral by 2050.
The city set that goal last November.
From there, a 45-person committee set out to write strategies to get us there.
The new 111-page plan lays out steps to take in the next 10 years.
Some of the 68 steps include reducing the use of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers, passing a home energy rating ordinance, launching bike and scooter share programs and increasing sales of electric vehicles.
The council will vote on the resolution Tuesday.
A public hearing about the plans will be held on Monday at 7 p.m.
