Chippewa Valley LGBTQ+ Center re-opening in new location

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Less than one month after a lack of heat forced the Chippewa Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center to move out of the State Theatre, the group has a new place to call home.

Beginning on March 1, the center will be open inside the Executive Center at 505 Dewey Street South in Eau Claire.

Center leaders say the 1,750 square-foot space will provide office space, a community room, kitchen and private bathroom for patrons.

“The love and support the community has shown us over the last few weeks has allowed us to breathe new life into our organization and mission to serve the LGBTQ+ community," said center director Breana Stanley. "While we are hurt by the actions of our previous landlord, we are moving forward and are thankful for those who have donated time, money, and space to keep us functioning during the transition. Our new space is better than anything we could have expected and will allow for us to grow in the Chippewa Valley.”

The center provides health care referrals, support groups and inclusive events for all identities.
