Eau Claire (WQOW) - There are now two possible designs for proposed upgrades at Boyd Park in Eau Claire. After raising $10,000 last year, the Eastside Hill Neighborhood Association worked with Ayres Associates to create the renderings based on feedback from residents.

Committee member Chris Buske said they want to create a space the neighborhood really wants. He said the plan is to change the layout of the park, redo the playground and add a river access point.

"Boyd Park is perfectly centered between River Prairie and the Confluence," Buske said. "I think there's a lot of opportunity for us there being along the Eau Claire River where people are biking back and forth between those two features [and] kayaking between those features."

He said the total cost will be determined by the features that community members choose. Once they settle on a final design, he said their goal will be to raise the money to complete the project over the next year through grants and donations.

He said the Eau Claire Skaters Association plans to fund the skate park that is part of the redesign.

"Our goal with this is to really promote nature, education and wellness for the neighborhood and for the children of our neighborhood," Buske said.

The input session will take place at 6:30 p.m. on March 5 at Spirit Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. More information is available on the Eastside Hill Neighborhood Facebook page.
