Increasing clouds Sunday before Monday snow

Temperatures today were significantly warmer than yesterday. Eau Claire's low temperature today was 11 compared to -16 yesterday. Black River Falls' low temperature today was a full 45 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday with a low of 11 today compared to -34 yesterday.

By this afternoon, temperatures made it to 35 degrees in Eau Claire, which is 22 degrees warmer than yesterday's high. Tonight we can expect temperatures to fall into the upper single digits.

Tomorrow morning should start mostly sunny to partly cloudy, but clouds will increase throughout the day as a quick-moving disturbance approaches. Sunday afternoon there will be a slight chance of flurries or light snow showers, but accumulation will be unlikely.

The better chances for accumulating snow arrive on Monday. There is still some uncertainty with track and totals, but current trends indicate the potential for accumulating snow across the Chippewa Valley with the best chances to see 3" or more to our south and east. If the low tracks further north, that could potentially bring some of the higher snow totals into the Chippewa Valley.

There is still some time for things to change, so be sure to check back with the Stormtracker 18 Weather Team as we refine our forecast.

After Monday, there will be plenty of sunshine next week. There will be another burst of cold air in the middle of next week, but temperatures will increase going into next weekend.
