Eau Claire City Council approves park plan for Princeton Valley neighborhood

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A new park will be coming to Eau Claire's Princeton Valley neighborhood.

The Eau Claire City Council approved the plan at Tuesday's meeting, which rezones land on both sides of West Princeton Avenue for the park. As we reported, the plan calls for a play area and basketball court, and walking trails.

City Council member Emily Berge said the neighborhood has wanted a park for many years and residents were heavily involved in the planning process.

"People shared what they would want to see in the neighborhood park, and we voted on them with sticky notes. It was a very engaging process," said Berge. "Then the neighborhood association took those ideas and brought them to city staff."

The land for the project was donated to the city last year.
