The quiet, cloudy weather turns to snow ahead of the weekend

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Clouds. Yes, we've said it almost everyday. They are back Wednesday, but the sun is scheduled to return this weekend.

But first, we have to deal with a few nuisance weather features that may cause you headache.

Wednesday will be a few degrees warmer than Tuesday with highs back into the upper 20's. Winds will be light so there will be a very minimal wind chill factor.

Overnight, lows will drop into the teens and patchy freezing fog will likely form. This could lead to some patchy black ice forming for Thursday morning's commute.

Then, as an approaching clipper low falls into the region we may see some light snow late Thursday. This snow will last into Friday morning with flurries possible through Saturday morning.

This won't be a "big snow". In fact, we're looking at around an inch of accumulation. This may be enough to grease up roads though Friday morning and afternoon.

Finally, we may see some sun late Saturday, but Sunday we'll get a healthy dose. Temperatures will climb to near 40 degrees ahead of a major cool down and more snow.
