Warmer than average end to January

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

We are heading into the last week of January and our above average streak of temperatures is expected to continue. Average highs for this time of year are in the mid 20s, and high temperatures in the low to mid 30s are expected for much of the upcoming week.

Today's high temperature in Eau Claire was 37, which makes this the fourth day in a row with a temperature above 30 degrees. Average highs this time of year are in the mid 20s.

The pesky low pressure system that has brought us clouds and snow showers for several days continues to slowly move away. We will gradually see chances for snow showers continue to diminish overnight and into Sunday. At this point we will pretty much only be dealing with light snow flurries.

Even though that system is moving away, we likely won't see much sunshine to end the weekend or for much of the upcoming week. Clouds will persist through Sunday with only a few breaks of sun possible.

Another weak system that is currently moving through the Dakotas will continue to move toward us, but we are not expecting impacts here beyond persistent cloud cover.

While weather this week will be generally quiet, there are a few chances for some light snow showers throughout the week. The first comes Tuesday night into Wednesday, with another chance closer to next weekend.
