Eau Claire County (WQOW) - In a 24 to 2 vote, the Eau Claire County Board approved a resolution in support of requiring animal-drawn vehicles to be registered.
According to documents filed by highway commissioner Jon Johnson, there's currently no way of identifying one animal-drawn vehicle owner from another on public highways.
The bill would require the county to pay 50% of the registration to the town where the owner lives.
The rest of the registration money would be used for road repairs and other administration costs.
The resolution now heads to lawmakers in Madison.
