Brewers to rename ballpark American Family Field

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- After the 2020 season, the Milwaukee Brewers will rename their ballpark American Family Field. American Family Insurance announced the new name would take effect on Jan. 1, 2021.

“The name American Family Field incorporates what we learned from fans, the Brewers and marketing research that included analysis of our brand and other sporting venue names,” said Jack Salzwedel, American Family chair and executive officer, in a statement. “The name is short, simple and sweet with its alliteration of ‘Family’ and ‘Field’. The words ‘American Family’ capture our brand and reflect the family-orientated atmosphere that our research showed fans clearly value in the ballpark.”

The fact that the ballpark would be getting a new name was announced in 2019.

Miller Park will retain its name through the 2020 season. American Family will then have naming rights for 15 years.
