Eau Claire (WQOW) - A Minnesota man spent the overnight hours in the Eau Claire County Jail because troopers say he was driving under the influence of marijuana early Saturday morning.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, Leonardo Gonzalez Gasper, 27, of Minneapolis was on Interstate 94 near mile marker 75 in Eau Claire County when he rolled his vehicle Saturday at 2:40 a.m.
When troopers arrived they could smell marijuana and said Gonzalez Gasper showed signs of impairment.
Gonzalez Gasper and his three passengers, including kids five and eight years old, were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire to be treated for injuries.
According to the State Patrol, Gonzalez Gasper was given a field sobriety test and he was placed under arrest for 1st offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence with children present.
He was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid license and driving without insurance.
